In Oct.2003 we visited the most beautiful place 'Japan'. We lived in Tokyo for a month. We really had a great time over there as we experienced the rich culture, great heritage of history ,ancient architecture and the beautiful nature. I (Hemali) wish ,we could visit this beautiful country again.Japan is a long thin island, nearly 75% of the terrain is rugged and mountainous and virtually uninhabitable. Approximately 15% is devoted to agriculture, leaving only about 10% for people to actually live on.
Fast paced, energetic and busy, the modern city streets of Japan rarely seems to rest, flashing neon signs fill the cityscape at night. In contrast, Japanese lifestyle is very reserved from its quiet and uncluttered interiors to its simplistic form of arts - where less is often considered more.
From architecture to the presentation of food, the Japanese approach to design has historically been linear and asymmetrical, with texture and elements deeply emphasized creating a visual display of depth and variety.
Japan has many Western qualities; however, behind the decor of the cities, you will find that the Japanese respect their honorable traditions with great pride.
Every culture has its own rules regarding etiquette.Japanese people tend not to point out mistakes made by foreigners for fear of embarrassing them. At the same time, they don't really expect foreigners to adhere strictly to these rules anyway.
